Creating incident templates

What are incident templates?

Incident templates allow you to streamline your incident creation process by allowing you to create and reuse predefined incident templates. For example, if your website frequently experiences outages, you can set up a template with pre-filled details like the incident title, description and affected services. Then when the outage occurs again, you can quickly create a new incident using the template, saving you time.

Creating incident templates

  • From the sidebar go to the Incidents page
  • Select the Templates tab
  • Click the "+ New Template" button to start creating a new template.
  • You will now be displayed a page, where you can enter all of the details about the template
    • Title: a short text which tells your customers what the incident is about, this is also your template's name
    • Incident status: displays how close you are to resolving the incident
    • Message: a longer text which goes into detail about the incident.
    • Affected services: choose which services are affected by the incident and easily update their status from the dropdown menu to match the current state. This changes the corresponding services to your selected status when the incident is created.
  • Once you're finished entering the details click the "Save as Template" button
